Tension Guide
What is Tension - Tension is the measure of force at
which the string is pulled at. A higher tension will pull the string tighter making the string feel
tighter.
How do i know what tension to pick?
Almost every racquet has a recommended tension range printed on the frame. This can be either
in kg or lbs.
It is unadvisable to go above this range as this wil void the racquet warranty and with older frames could cause
them to break
The stringer is always here to help you find your perfect tension. if you are unsure which tension to go for then
pick the mid tension. By doing this we can gradually raise or lower the tension until we find your perfect racquet set
up for you.
Tension can change between different sized racquets. For example a mid size racquet will be
strung at far less tension than an oversize racquet.

String Bed Stiffness
How much the string bed will flex and deflect the ball. The higher the stiffness the higher the more
control feel a player will get on the ball.
There are many different types of frames all with differing sizes from oversize larger frames to
smaller mid size frames. The larger frames will have a lower string bed stiffness as the distance of the
string from the throat to the head of the racquet is greater than that of a mid sized racquet. This means the
oversize frame will be give a softer feel and be more powerful than the mid sized racquet which will provide
the player with greater control and crisper feel
